i am doll parts:
Goldbergilocks, in a Wire diavlog with two people who are much smarter than he is, remarks of Lester Freamon, "I mean, that dollhouse business, that seemed to be a character flaw."

How revealing. Patience, diligence, and attention to detail indicate a lack of character to Goldbergilocks. Better to go with the herd, and have your own Klebanows and Whitings pat your head for delivering bloodless mediocrity. Remember when Goldberg blew Michael Gerson? ("Gerson is known to his friends for his pre-ironic sensibility, and for his soft heart; I once saw him close to tears when he spoke about AIDS patients in Uganda...") Funny how it took insider Matthew Scully to bust Gerson's mythos. Now, Scully is an interested party. But Goldberg was oblivious to the fact that there was any discord surrounding the subject of his interminable profile. Didn't that disconnect between Goldberg's piece and Scully's raise questions to any editor at the Atlantic, where Scully's piece ran?
