November 07, 2006 Media Contact: (703) 697-5131/697-5132 Public/Industry(703) 428-0711 DoD Identifies Marine Casualties The Department of Defense announced today the death of two Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Lance Cpl. James E. Brown, 20, of Owensville, Ind., died Nov. 2 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Staff Sgt. Jason D. Whitehouse, 27, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Nov. 2 while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Intelligence Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
