July 19, 2007 Media Contact: (703) 697-5131/697-5132 Public/Industry(703) 428-0711 DoD Identifies Army Casualty The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Nathan S. Barnes, 23, of American Fork, Utah, died July 17 in Rushdi Mullah, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by insurgents using small arms fire.He was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
